External construction debris including demolition and roofing materials.Outdoor items such as lawn ornaments, patio chairs, tables, etc.Outdoor structures (sheds, dog houses, chicken coops, patios, roofing, etc.).Pools, spas and all related accessories (liners, pumps, etc.).Fencing, pallets, wooden stairs, decking.Automobile parts of any kind (whole automobiles are not accepted).The following items are NOT included in the 2,000-pound allowance and will be charged tipping fees for disposal of these items: Property owners and residents must bring the waste in themselves and show proof of ownership/residency to qualify. Examples of household waste that are included in the free 2,000-pound allowance are bagged kitchen and bathroom trash, clothing, bedding, packaging, electronics, yard trimmings, indoor furniture, appliances and small quantities of construction debris from indoor DIY projects (drywall, tile, carpet). Qualified property owners and residents of homes that pay the annual solid waste disposal assessment through their property taxes may dispose of up to 2,000 pounds of household waste per year for free, excluding the below-listed items. All size trailers are welcomed at this location. The Northwest Solid Waste Management Facility (Main Landfill) takes most types of waste and recycling from both residents and commercial businesses, with some exceptions. Bring sufficient help for unloading team members do not assist with unloading items. Keep children and pets in the vehicle at all times.
When visiting our locations, please practice smart social distancing on site – remain in your vehicle at the scale house and stay at least six feet away from employees and other visitors while unloading. All facilities are for Hernando County waste only. Please refer to the information below for examples of materials accepted at each facility. The types and quantities of materials accepted at each facility are different. Hernando County has three drop off facilities for solid waste and recycling. As a result, we will not be able to accept metal during the repairs, but metal will return once the project is completed. Remember to plan your trip accordingly.ĭuring construction, the metal and open top furniture bins will be closed. Anyone arriving at the West Convenience Center with a trailer will be directed to head towards the Main Landfill on US 98 by the Suncoast Parkway. Trailers will no longer be accepted at this location.
This is due to construction and maintenance including: repairing the metal chutes, pouring concrete, and replacing a retaining wall. and no longer permitting trailers at this location.
